Ripple Blanket & Baby Birds

Look at the cute little robin babies! (click to zoom in and get a really good look!)

They make the cutest peeping noises. Our dogs keep running to the window over the porch and listening and sniffing b/c the baby birds are making so much noise!

I started my ripple blanket yesterday. It has been bugging me for days that I had the yarn but hadn't started yet....

so yesterday I just jumped in and started. I'm using my own pattern, deviating from the previous color arrangement I used in my test piece.

Decided to go with a double row of dc instead of alternating dc/sc. I'll post my pattern soon.

I like the way everyone's ripples appear here--I am very inspired. Opal has made so many of these it makes my head spin!!! My objective is to make a summer weight blanket. I love the weight of the Sugar & Cream after washing and shrinking, and I love the way it drapes. So in spite of other projects still unfinished, I start. Been fun so far!

cookie....
Here's a recipe for my new favorite cookie. I have made these once a month since I found the recipe. Not sure where I found it, may have been on-line somewhere. Only 5 ingredients, and they taste sooooooo good.

These ROCK! Look at the gooey melty chocolate, mmmmmmm

Chocolate Macaroons

14 oz pkg of shredded coconut (use less if you use powdered coconut)
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Line baking sheets with parchment paper, or grease unlined sheets. Preheat oven to 350* F. Mix coconut & milk, then add vanilla.

Melt butter, stir in cocoa until smooth. Add to coconut mixture.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets.
Bake 10 minutes (they will be moist.) Cool on rack.

Mmmm, toasted coconut and chocolate. Two of my most favorite flavors!!!

p.s. I didn't have enough coconut today, so instead used 7 oz coconut, 1 cup milk choc chips and 1/4-1/3 cup of ground hazelnuts to make the batter thick enough to bake. I also skipped the butter, and just mashed the cocoa into the whole batter until well mixed. Wow, decadent....I'm calling this version of them Fudge Macaroons--you can only eat one at a time!

oo! A new recipe to try! I like the colors you chose for your ripple. Can't wait to see more.

I love the colours for your ripple! You know I haven't made _that_ many ripples. I'm only on my 2nd. ;-)

Those cookies look divine, BTW.
